Moodle LMS (rcrca)

Moodle is a powerful LMS, but out of the box it looks institutional and generic — and theming it is a different discipline from WordPress: Mustache templates, SCSS layers, and renderer overrides instead of familiar theme files. The client needed their Figma designs implemented faithfully inside those constraints, in Arabic with full right-to-left layout — meaning every component had to be mirrored and typography handled for Arabic script. Beyond the theme, the platform needed custom informational pages (about, how-to-use, courses, events, contact) that Moodle doesn’t provide natively, plus a course-proposal workflow for external instructors to submit their materials.

I developed a custom Moodle theme from the Figma designs, implementing the full learner-facing experience: homepage with course showcases, the institute’s five-stage learning model presentation, platform statistics, and events — all in right-to-left Arabic layout. I built the custom static pages Moodle lacks (about, how to use, courses catalog, events, contact) as integrated platform pages, and implemented an instructor course-proposal form with document uploads, letting outside academics submit courses for review. The result is a branded learning platform on Moodle’s proven LMS engine — supporting blended synchronous/asynchronous learning and the official Moodle mobile app.
