Case Study

Audi Plugin

AUDI needed a centralized, bilingual knowledge portal — an "Info Hub" cataloguing cities, urban projects, organizations, and publications. I developed the custom WordPress plugin powering the entire portal: four interconnected content types, English/Arabic support with synchronized translations, and front-end submission forms that let external contributors add data without ever touching wp-admin.

4 Interconnected content types managed by one plugin
2 Languages with synchronized paired records (English/Arabic)
100% Front-end data intake — contributors never touch wp-admin

What the client was up against

The portal’s data model was relational and bilingual: publications belong to cities and urban projects, organizations operate in cities, and every record needed linked English and Arabic versions that stay in sync. Content had to come from outside contributors through public forms — with image and document uploads, draft moderation, and admin alerts whenever a submission referenced a city or project not yet in the system.

No off-the-shelf plugin handles paired-language records with that kind of relational, front-end data intake.

What I built

I built a single custom plugin that powers the portal end to end. It registers the four content types and their page templates, renders front-end submission forms for publications, organizations, and cities, and processes each submission into paired English/Arabic draft posts through Polylang’s API — keeping translations linked and ACF field data synchronized across both language versions.

Submissions support image and document uploads with automatic featured-image handling, land in a moderation queue as drafts, and trigger admin email alerts when contributors request new cities or projects. AJAX-powered search and filtering, shortcodes, and Contact Form 7 integration complete the portal.
